Ghost 17
Ghost 17 is a neutral daily trainer for road running and walking. It retains nitrogen-infused DNA LOFT v3 but adds 1 mm of cushioning at the heel and 3 mm at the forefoot versus Ghost 16, while lowering the drop from 12 mm to 10 mm. Precisely placed flex grooves and the segmented crash pad support smooth transitions, and a double-jacquard air-mesh upper with a revised heel collar improves breathability and hold.

Weight measurement and plate details
- Weight note
- Men's sample from official Brooks page
- Plate note
- The exact Brooks Japan and Brooks UK Ghost 17 pages detail DNA LOFT v3, flex grooves, a segmented crash pad, and an air-mesh upper without identifying a carbon structure. This complete official construction evidence, corroborated by REI's exact product specifications, supports the existing false carbon-plate classification.
