Wave Rider 30 is a daily road trainer for regular jogs. Compared with the 29, its thicker, lower-drop sole combines supercritically foamed MIZUNO ENERZY NXT above a conventional NXT layer and the series' first full-length Wave plate. A wider midfoot-to-heel outsole contact area supports stability, while the revised rubber layout preserves the previous model's stated weight.

The shoe uses a full-length MIZUNO WAVE plate. The exact retailer page for the 30th-anniversary color identifies the non-carbon material PEBAX RNEW. Arkema defines that material family as PEBA; the standard model's precise resin grade remains unconfirmed.
